Saint John’s Clothing Page

This year Saint John’s is celebrating her 120th anniversary and to  commemorate this milestone, we are offering T-Shirts, caps, and Golf Shirts.  Below you will find examples of what the shirts will look like and an order form you can download and turn in to the office or leave on the back table of the Nave on Sunday morning (order forms also available in the parish office and on tables in the Nave and Narthex). Our T-shirt design features a depiction of the roof ridge cross which has been a fixture of the parish building since her construction.  The image on the back of the T-Shirt features our 120th anniversary design by local artist Adam Trest.  The 120th anniversary Latin motto “et Verbum caro factum est” is the first half of John 1:14- “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”  This verse speaks of God becoming man and dwelling among us- in the same way this parish takes the faith we have been handed from God and generations of parish family and make it incarnate in our community and beyond.  The Eagle is a symbol of Saint John, while the pot of boiling oil and the snake/chalice are symbols of attempted martyrdoms during his life.  The shield, or breastplate of the Eagle is the shield of the Episcopal Church (with the Cross of Saint George- patron of England; and the X- shaped cross of stars symbolizing the cross of Saint Andrew and our Episcopal heritage that stems from Scotland; and the stars themselves the founding dioceses of The Episcopal Church.  The ring that encompasses the Eagle is from the surround of the Saint John’s window, with the Four Evangelists and the Flemmish brickwork that makes our parish building one-of-a-kind.  Below you will find an image of the T-Shirt and a PDF downloadable order form.   We are also offering Golf-shirts and stylish caps (baseball/golf type hats that men could wear to golf, or ladies to tennis or the beach).  The second image displayed is the emblem on the golf shirts and caps.

    truquitos. Un
