As I sit writing yet another article for Notes on stewardship I open my Amazon Music App hoping to find inspiration as to what to place on the empty page in front of me.  My brilliant plan was to draw inspiration from the first song that played…now… My music taste is quite eclectic.  My play list runs from The Doors, Jim Hendrix, Crosby, Still, & Nash (before Young), anything 70’s, anything Motown, some Country, Christian, even a few Electronica…and who doesn’t like a good Broadway tune, all the way to Gregorian Chants…all on shuffle…I thought this will be interesting to say the least.
I hit shuffle and cross my fingers, say a quick prayer, close my eyes and just listen.  My thoughts drifted to our beloved Church…what She has seen, what She has been through throughout time, what She has done for the community and those in Her Care AND…what have or haven’t WE done for Her.
I hear Her saying She does not just want to “get by”, She does not want to do just “enough”.  SHE WANTS TO THRIVE, SHE WANTS US TO THRIVE, SHE WANTS OUR COMMUNITY TO THRIVE.

While you enjoy this video, please think of our church, Her needs, Her peoples needs and give thanks for all She has given us ALL.  Let’s help Her Thrive the way Christ had intended because HE has placed upon us Her care. Lets all stop doing just enough to service, let’s all thrive TOGETHER.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Myrick

Connecting Ministry
We here at Saint John’s love reaching out to others and letting them know that they are loved by God, held in prayer and remembered.  Our Pastoral Care Committee, E.Y.C. and Daughters of the King society would love to write notes of encouragement, send small care packages and simply let others know that they are prayed for and remembered.  If you have a loved one who is shut-in, a college student or in the military, follow this link to fill out the form and let us stay in touch with them!  The form is here:  http://stjohnslaurel.com/?page_id=2037
