Happy Wednesday to the good people of Saint John’s:

We had a lovely celebration of Pentecost this past Sunday.  Our own Randy Jackson put in a good bit of time bringing the Church to ‘life’, putting in a good bit of greenery to symbolize the new life of the Church given by the Holy Spirit.  We also had the Sunday School children process in with the choir and toss Rose petals as symbol of the fire of Holy Spirit falling on the Apostles. Thanks to everyone who helped to make the day special and meaningful.

As with every summer, it is time to issue a friendly reminder that God does not take summers off providing us with saving grace and life and mercies…nor should we take the summer off from giving thanks for that Grace and worshiping our Lord and Saviour.  We do our best to keep things going and providing opportunities…so I hope and pray the faithful will take the opportunity to come and worship and take part in the life of the Church.

Recently, we have begun to post audio files of the Sunday services on our website, and also take CDs to the sick and shut-in who cannot be with us on Sunday morning.  We are working on getting these recordings in Podcast form for the convenience of those who travel and those who want to listen during the week.  And if you know of anybody who might benefit from the CD recordings, please let the parish office know and we will make sure they get to those who want to join us in spirit.

Vacation Bible School ended last week a great success.  Thanks to all the moms who gave a good bit of time and effort to help make sure it went off without a hitch and ensured that the kids learned about the faith and had a great time.

See you all this Sunday for Trinity Sunday!
